What is Library 2.0 ?

My initial thoughts were quite random and then I found We Know What Library 2.0 Is and Is Not and realized that this post expressed many of the ideas I was having including:

"...the discussion of Library 2.0 has been focused on little things we can do to better serve our users... implementing IM reference and creating a presence on social networks ... we have to be careful to not flood ourselves with new projects until we have a clear understanding of what it is we’re trying to do and where we want to go ... and that means first figuring out what our users want and need...

Library 2.0 is:
user-centric
constant change and evaluation
not just about technology
political

...providing our users with access to information. Library 2.0 strives to reach this goal in part through customer-driven services."

I also found What is Library 2.0 interesting. It's also posted on slideshare.

Online Productivity Tools

Snipshot the web-based photo editing tool seemed great -- $3 for 2 weeks (good for vacations or meetings) or $9/month - the sample dog image was easy to manipulate.

30 Boxes, the free web-based calendar was easy to setup and use - able to incorporate weather into calendar too! I am still wondering how it interfaces with Groupwise or my Blackberry.

Basecamp, a project management and task software tool, was outstanding. Imagine being able to control calendars, tasks, tracking, etc. online. Cost was a DRAWBACK. The lowest subscription was Basic for $24/month for small groups. I quickly realized that I was wowed by the features, but that I wanted a 'personal' management tool like Basecamp, rather than a project management tool.

Zoho Writer - Saving & Posting

Zoho Writer - Untitled post - editing

My original message was untitled (I signed into blogger using gmail account) and used 'New Post' > 'Post' tab > 'Edit' to give my original untitled post a title.

When you click 'Share' it warns you you have not saved it, so I saved it as Zoho Writer - Saving... and am retrying the 'Post to Blog'

Zoho Writer has a 'Get my Blogs' window and window with a 'Post as Draft' or 'Publish' option. I will try the 'Post as Draft' option.

When I logged into Blogger I found the draft. The file title had became my blog title. Next I 'Publish Post'

Zoho Writer - Posting to my blog

I signed up for Zoho Writer just a few minutes ago. When you confirm via email, I immediately got a Welcome to Zoho Writer message in Zoho. Of course, I wanted to print the Welcome :<), but instead I just scrolled and found the

Post to Your Blog

Being on the web, you can post to your blog from within Zoho Writer.

I found it under the 'Share' tab.

del.icio.us - sending to another del.icio.us account

From the Social Bookmarking Bibliography PDF, I went to Brown, Rebecca’s Social Bookmarking presentation:
https://webmeeting.nih.gov/p21582217/

Rebecca demonstrated how in the tags one can type
for: [name_of_del.icio.us_account]
and it will send it to the specified del.icio.us account
